Singur Stalemate

It is painful to see one of the architechs of modern India is caught in the political soup at West Bengal. Tatas are innovative and world ranking industrial houses. They make Indians proud and positive in investments. The families working with them are happy and far above in standard of life. The political crisis created by Mamata Bannerjee is irrelevant and cruel to common man of Bengal. She can convince the farmers for the betterment of the state as well as the nation as a whole. But she is adamant and playing the events for her political advancement.
The Congress at the centre by keeping off from this major industrial crisis creates the impression that they are behind Mrs. Bannerjee in an insidious manner. The ruling party at the Centre is hoping to make some inroads with Mrs. Bannerjee by this mayhem in West Bengal.

Mamai ...

You have great writing skills.. keep going..

Regarding the Singur issue, what do you think about all the agriculture lands being used for other purposes. As the population increases we should also be ready to meet the food demand.

As we move forward, we need to have less and less percentage of the population depend on Agriculture and the land. It is true that we need to stop using Agriculture land for industry when barren lands are available. Technologies are catching up with the land issue (Japan with much higher population densities and much lower arable land is able to produce more food). So scarcity of the land alone need not be the only reason.
Few links one how a small land could be used

Key is spreading the technology that is already developing. Not only for Agriculture, but other areas like renewable energy, traditional healthcare etc.
Happy to know that PSG has started the PSGCAS (college of Advanced Studies)
